Horseshoe Canyon Ranch is 350 beautiful acres located in the high country of the Natural State...the pristine Buffalo National River wilderness of the Ozark Mountains near Jasper, Arkansas. This ranch, owned and managed by four generations of the Johnson family, offers guests a "Western experience with Southern hospitality". Guests stay in comfortable, rustic log cabins and have spectacular views of the rolling meadows and high cliffs. All cabins have excellent cooling and heating systems, but for those nights with a nip in the air, there are also wood-burning stoves on rock hearths that provide a romantic glow as well as additional warmth. Ranch fare at its finest is served family style in the main lodge from early spring to late fall. For "snackers" and those with special needs, each cabin is equipped with a microwave and small refrigerator. A six day stay at HCR includes all meals, horseback riding, canoeing, a day trip to Branson, Missouri, ranch rodeo, hayride, hiking, climbing, and entertainment. Although riding is the main attraction at HCR, the beautiful pool, hot tub, frequent campfires, and laid-back moments in a comfortable rocker on a wide, covered porch may appeal more to some. Three day packages are also available. Whatever your preference, Horseshoe Canyon Ranch is the place to be!

Then the wind howls, the building shakes, and the rain pounds down. Some days it's warm and sunny and the sky is bright blue. Some days there's morning fog. Some days the wind makes you stay inside and read! Some days are rainbow days, the weather just can't decide. The ocean is always present. (The hotel is on a 45 foot bluff right above the surf.) You move into the rhythm of the sea. Perhaps that's why time seems to slow way down, almost to a standstill. Three of the rooms are directly over the surf. The Sylvia Beach Hotel has a particularly beautiful coastal panorama, which includes the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.
